Mzee Opolot of Okoboi village displays tortured and deformed legs at Soroti court today as a result of torture in front of his children by NRA soldiers in 1986. They occupied his house because it had a spring well but when leaving, loaded his cows and house hold property but not before torturing him. His pressure drugs dropped in front of the soldiers who then accused him of being a supplier of drugs to rebels. He was later detained at the detach and came back to an empty home. When he lodged his claim for compensation Ministry of Defense approved, but justice refused to pay. As a result he’s in court because of discrimination after Acholi claims were paid.
